Marketing Your Stall
It is difficult to stand out in a crowded market when people often don’t have a purchase goal in mind. Knowing how to market your stall prior to the event as well as branding on the day, will play a part in your stall’s success. After holding several Big Little Markets events annually, we have a few marketing tips for you!
Website
Often the first place potential customers will go for information about your product/service is a website. Not only does this add professionalism to your business but allows customers to browse your products/services prior to and after the event. A website enables you to create a story behind why you chose to sell the item/s. This gives people context and understanding as to why you have pursued this business venture. It also allows customers more exposure to your business as a whole, prior to making purchase decisions.
Social Media
Another essential element in the successful marketing of your stall lies in the creation of social media pages. Facebook and Instagram are the 2 highest performing social media platforms, depicting the necessity to engage with this trend. Once you have created a page, don’t stop there! You need to be publishing often on both sites, to show the business is active. Posts can be related to business updates, photos of customers or even competitions. Running a competition on social media platforms encouraging users to like or share your page to win a prize, engages potential customers and increases business reach.
Updates
Like what was discussed surrounding social media, constant site updates are essential in marketing your stall. Content on your website and social media needs to be updated constantly and consistently. Examples include business or staffing updates, product launches or publishing the upcoming events you will be attending. Often when discovering a new business, customers will scroll through it’s social media pages for an idea of the business’s history, values and product information. This is why social media updates are crucial when marketing your stall as customers will be viewing this and form opinions based on these posts/information.
Branding
The branding of your business is highly important when marketing it. Stall signage needs to remain professional and consistent across price tags, posters, signs and social media accounts. This allows for easy recall of your business if customers have come across it previously. You need to ensure your products are displayed effectively in an eye-catching way on your stand. If you are unsure of how to do this, see our blog post on 10 Visual Merchandising Tools.
Customer Service
Great customer service plays a large role in marketing through word of mouth when customers feel satisfied with the service you offered them. When a person approaches your stall, a smile and a hello, invites them to browse your stall comfortably. Engage in conversation and tailor it to fit their needs, giving them reason to purchase. Whether they purchase or not, always end on a positive note. Hand out your business card or encourage them to engage with your business on social media. This helps in creating a lasting relationship where customers may refer you to friends/family whilst encouraging a continuous relationship online.
Following these tips on marketing your stall will help you on your way to growing your business and become familiar with the power of social media!
