What Is Event Management and Why Is It Useful for Markets

Event management is at the heart of every Big Little Markets experience. When you explore our markets, discovering handmade goods and chatting with stallholders, you are seeing it in action from start to finish.
Understanding the Role
So, what is event management? It is the process of planning, organising, and delivering an event from concept to completion. This includes venue selection, vendor coordination, marketing, event setup, and on the day operations.
At Big Little Markets, understanding what is event management means recognising that every detail matters. From the mix of stallholders to the flow of the space, everything is carefully considered to create a welcoming and enjoyable environment.
How It Supports Businesses
A big part of what is event management is creating opportunities for others. Our markets are designed to support local makers, artists, and creatives by giving them a platform to showcase their products and connect with customers.
Strong planning and organisation ensure each vendor has the space and support they need to succeed. This is one of the key reasons why what is event management is so valuable to growing small businesses. Check out our current and upcoming events here.
Creating a Better Visitor Experience
When people ask what goes into creating a well-run event, the answer often comes down to experience. A thoughtfully delivered event feels easy, enjoyable, and engaging.
From the layout of stalls to the overall atmosphere, every element is shaped by careful planning. This is why some markets feel vibrant and exciting, with everything flowing effortlessly from start to finish.
